Eileen
Ancherani Houghtlin - 1992  Eileen was promoted to Master Sergeant in the United States Army Reserve in 2009.  She is the First Sergeant (1SG) of a Military Police Unit, and deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from March 2003 until March 2004.  posted 11/15/2010 

Heidi Wolfsberger Peoples - 1998  
Heidi Peoples claimed the title for the second time in three years, and eclipsed the women’s course record by more than four minutes. Edward R. Alexander
- 2009  Eddie has been promoted to Airman First Class in the US Air Force and has completed his technical training.  Eddie was also selected as the Class Leader during his technical training and received a Green Rope.  Eddie is now a CV-22 Osprey Crew Chief stationed at Kirtland Air Force Base New Mexico.  posted 11/6/2010

Marie Seig Sowinski
- 1972  Marie, currently residing  in the State of Delaware, has a son, Cody Sowinski, serving in the U.S. Army Special Forces.  Cody is a Green Beret currently stationed in Fort Bragg, N. Carolina.    posted 9/6/2010

Heidi Wolfsberger Poeples- 1998  
Running just the third marathon of her career, Wolfsberger won the Women's title of the Steamtown Marathon on October 12, 2008.  She did win with ease, but her time of 2:44:28 fell just 27 seconds shy of the Steamtown women’s record set in 1998.  More on this story can be found at the following  links:

Dana Ozark - 1987     
Jeff Suppan, the husband of a former Riverside Graduate, Dana Ozark, and son-in-law of former Elementary East secretary, Sandy Ozark, was nonimated for the Roberto Clemente Award 2008-2009.  Jeff pitches for the Milwaukee Brewers. Congratulations on your nomination!   

Paul Brennan 1993  The principal at Riverside Elementary West has created a non profit organization called Vikings Helping Vikings. It exclusively creates scholarships and educational opportunities for graduating seniors at the Riverside Jr. Sr. High School.  Additional information about what it is and who is involved, can be found at:  http://www.vikingshelpingvikings.com/ 

Mark Powell -  1982   Attorney Mark J. Powell, a senior partner at Scranton’s historic Powell Law firm, has been awarded the coveted Certification in Criminal Law from the National Board of Trial Advocacy.   Click here for more information.

John Gronski - 1974:

Ryan Joyce - 2002:
 Ryan is a 2002 Riverside graduate studying automotive and industrial design at the Cleveland (OH) Institute of Art in a demanding five-year BFA program.  Last summer, Ryan was awarded one of 7 coveted design internships at the General Motors Design Center. The 12 week intensive work experience, which was filmed by the Discovery Channel for a 4 part series entitled FutureCar, challenged students to design and build  professional  scale ‘cars of the future’—cerca 2030.   The Discovery Channel  will air the program on Wednesdays in February in four, one-hour segments beginning February 7 at 8:00 p.m.  Ryan will play a feature role in each of those segments, according to program executives.  See the following link for more information. http://dsc.discovery.com/beyond/index.html?playerId=203711706&categoryId=433318910&lineupId=451776277&titleId=412163583

Jared Cicon - 1982:
  Have you heard about the DORITOS Crash the Super Bowl Contest? DORITOS fans across the U.S. shot their own DORITOS commercials. The creators of the top five videos won $10,000 dollars and a trip to Miami for a private Super Bowl XLI viewing party.
