A Message from Mrs. Van Luvender....

Dear Parents / Guardians:
I would like to thank you for your patience and cooperation thus far as we work through our updated dismissal procedures. We have been evaluating our procedure this past week and as anticipated, need to make some adjustments to improve efficiency and most importantly, student safety.

We are experiencing some minor traffic flow issues that we believe can be rectified with everyone’s cooperation. Please refer to the updated map that accompanies this letter.

Parents are asked to park around the front circle in addition to lining up in the main lot. Please be mindful we do have students who depart via van service from the main door. Please do not block the vans that pick up the students at the main door at 3:40 – 3:45.

Parents are asked to enter the main lot or the circle from School Street, not the hill where the buses are entering the grounds off of Kreig Ave.

Bus drivers are also struggling with cars parked along School Street. They are having a difficult time making the turns with cars parked so close to the corners of School and Kreig. Please do not park along the corners.

Also, when leaving the main lot, parents are asked to proceed around the circle and exit back on to School Street, not where the buses are entering from Kreig Ave. The current signage does say Do Not Enter; however once we have a traffic flow that works new signs will be put up around the grounds.

Again, I ask for your continued patience and understanding as we develop a routine that is safe and allows for a smooth and effective procedure. I am confident by working together we will develop a procedure that is safe and efficient for everyone.

Thank you in advance for all of your cooperation and patience as we work to improve our dismissal procedures.

Sincerely,
Nicole VanLuvender

Thanksgiving Placemats for St. Francis of Assisi Soup Kitchen    Every year, the students in Miss Lemoncelli's class decorate placemats for the patrons of the St. Francis of Assisi Soup Kitchen in Scranton.  The placemats are dropped off on Thanksgiving Eve, and then distributed for use during the Thanksgiving Dinners on Thursday.
