Riverside School District Safe Schools

  • A safe school is a place where students can learn and teachers can teach in a warm and welcoming environment. It is a setting where the educational climate fosters a spirit of acceptance and care for every student, where behavior expectations are clearly communicated, consistently enforced, and fairly applied.

The safety and Welfare of our students and staff are our highest priorities. The Riverside School District and building specific emergency plans have been developed in collaboration with our local Police departments. Various emergency drills are conducted throughout the school year in all of the Riverside School District buildings.

Police Officers dressed in full uniform or plain clothes are stationed in each building throughout the day, at school events, and after school activities. The police officers participate in training on a regular basis involving all aspects of school safety.

The Taylor and Moosic Police departments work closely with the administration, faculty, staff and students to help foster a safe learning environment.
