Go Math!

Our class will not be using the Everyday Math program that your children used in Kindergarten and 1st grade.

We will be using a new Math curriculum called Go Math. I am very excited about using this curriculum with your children this year.

Go Math is a curriculum that builds mastery of all content areas and provides a focused approach to developing children’s mathematical understanding, procedural skills, and fluency. An emphasis is placed on making connections between concepts and skills as children move through a carefully-sequenced learning experience.

Every Go Math! Lesson follows the same lesson design based on the 5E model of instruction: Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, and Evaluate.

There is also a Practice and Homework page with each lesson. We will try to complete these in school, if time allows. If not, it will be sent home as Homework.

There will be tests at the end of each unit. Tests will be announced in advance, a study guide will be sent home, and a reminder will be sent the day before.
