Attention Students:

I have set up my Google Classroom to invite you to join my class.  If you have not joined, please log in to Google.com using your Riverside username and password.  Click on the 9 square (waffle icon) in the upper right corner and locate the Classroom icon.  From there, find your ELA Google Classroom and click "join".  

Attention Parents:

Please consider accepting my invitation for you to enroll in a text alert system for my classes at Riverside East.  The system is called Remind 101.  It allows me to send reminders or important information that is happening in our class/school such as report card dates, progress report dates, important class deadlines, etc.  To enroll for our class updates, simply download the Remind app on your cell phone and join a class using the code that I will provide to your child on the first day of school.

If your child is absent for any reason, they need to go to their ELA Google Classroom.  Under the "Classwork" tab, they will see a topic titled "Daily Lesson" where they could find the work they missed for any day they were absent.  I also post all the weekly spelling, grammar, vocabulary, study sheets, etc in my Google classroom.  This is updated daily.  It's the student's responsibility to make up any missed assignments.  They are now able to access their Anthology and Reading Writing Companion (RWC) online via the Clever portal.  This has been reviewed with all students in class. Thank you!

ALL material that has been covered in class as well as assigned homework will be posted in Google Classroom under "Classwork" and then under the heading that's called "Daily Lesson"!!!!  

Students are able to access the Wonders Anthology and the Reading/Writing Companion (RWC) via the Clever portal from home.  They have been instructed how to use the portal.  All Spelling/Grammar/Vocabulary and any other instructional materials (such as class notes) can be accessed through Google Classroom under "Weekly Materials".

Throughout the school year, parent/teacher conferences are held either virtually or in-person.  We use "Sign-Up Genius" to schedule the meetings.  In the tab section on the left side of my webpage, you will see a tab titled "parent/teacher conferences".  This is where the link to Sign-Up Genius can be found once report cards are distributed.  Directions on how to sign up will also be provided at that time.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT FLEX DAYS!

I WILL HAVE OFFICE HOURS FROM 9:00 AM- 11:00 AM ON FLEX DAYS.  STUDENTS MAY MESSAGE ME THROUGH GOOGLE CLASSROOM IF THEY NEED ANY HELP ON THEIR ELA ASSIGNMENTS OR IF THEY HAVE ANY QUESTIONS!  THANK YOU!
