Topic: Floor Hockey Lesson 1 of 2

Lesson Objectives: The students will:
-Demonstrate how to pass
-Demonstrate how to shoot
-Demonstrate how to receive a pass
-Work as a team
-Communicate with teammates to be successful
Warm-up:
The students will get in their assigned seating areas, and go through the routine of stretching. Hanging straight down, then down to the right, left, and middle. The students will then put their right foot over their left and hang down, and then they will switch. The students will then proceed to sit on the floor. The students will keep their legs straight, and touch their toes straight out in front. Now they will spread their legs and go down to the right, then the left, and then the middle. The butterfly stretch will follow, and then they will end with spinal twisters. After all stretching the students will then do 10 crunches, and 10 push-ups. Then they will begin a 4 minute jog.
Guided Practice:
-The students will play a floor hockey game!
-The offensive player cannot shoot the ball into the goal when the ball is in the goalie’s box. Only the goalie is allowed to get the ball when it is in the goalie’s box.
-Players are not allowed to high stick, or check with their sticks. If they do they will be in the penalty box for 1 minute, or until the next score.

-When we get into the game we will incorporate two balls into the game. They game will be the same, and played until both balls are scored. After one ball gets scored that ball will be out of play.
